The Trigger:
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 35 and just didn’t know what to do. I had a baby a year later and next thing I knew I was 40, over 300 lbs and could barely get energy to play with her or do fun things with my wife. A week before my 40th birthday, my sister was killed in a car crash, and a week after my birthday my dad died of multiple heart attacks. He was over 400 lbs and died not being able to move. I decided then and there I was going to live differently.
The Change:
I picked up Fitbod because I wanted an app that could serve as a personal trainer to get me started. I’ve been working out for 7 months and feel the best I’ve ever felt. I eat whole foods/paleo and have cut out all processed food and quit smoking about 10 years ago. I also practice work life balance to stay in top mental shape too.
Results:
The most impactful change was getting off of my blood pressure medicine. Fast forward and since September 2018, I’m down 20lbs, body fat decreased by 20%, and finally got off my blood pressure medications. It feels so good to take this journey of health and I’m very glad for the Fitbod app for helping me move more.
Advice for others:
Just start, just keep going, even when you don’t want to. When you get down, just get back up and keep going.
